LOLO in SL Education: 3-D Worlds Project by Learning Times

The LOLO Pet Shop & Education in Second Life:

Last year, The LOLO got busy building a part of the 3-D Worlds Project, for the online learning group, Learning Times. The 3-D Worlds Project is used by D75, the Special Education District in New York City, where students with Autism, Developmental Delays, and Physical Challenges can practice life skills in a safe environment.

The 3-D Worlds Project is an island in Second Life designed to help the students gain more independence.

Within this program, the students practice real world activities, like buying a pet or applying for a job at a pet shop. One of the educators told me that the pet shop is many student's favorite part! I enjoyed my personal involvement with this project & was happy to see the success of the 3-D Worlds Project in this video (if video player isn't available, please use this link):

 

 

Mesh flower crowns!?

Hi there,

My partner, Natsuko made some beautiful flower crowns I'd like to share with you.

It's 360 degrees full on 100% mesh.

They are MOD and COPY ok, so you can adjust to the hairstyles you have and save them.

She also made matching bracelets that have more flowers on them.

First Cosmos Bird born at The LOLO today!

A rare bird is born today:

Squinternet Larnia grabbed a bird from the nest today at The LOLO Island.

Many kinds of birds have been born here... but Squinternet's bird wasn't just any bird.... this was a rare Cosmos bird!

This Cosmos bird is the first of its kind to be born into the Second Life world. This Cosmos is actually the first rare bird alive! The rare bird types are Cosmos, Amazon & Prism.

The Amazon:

The Prism:

No Prisms have been born yet.

I'm happy to see the first rare bird appear today.

NEW in SL: Mesh flowers from The LOLO

Hi everybody!

I have released several mesh low prim flowers lately... starting from 1 PE!!

1 PE= 1 Prim. PE is a measurment for mesh products. They are 100% mesh.

As always, they are all made by me (and some help from my partner). Designed from scratch for you!

 

There are several kinds and colors of mesh flowers and plants for sale from The LOLO, check them out on the marketplace!

You can also check mesh flowers out in world around the new mesh birds, in the LOLO Dome.

New in Second Life: LOLO Mesh House Plants

The LOLO is branching out:

New from The LOLO Pet Shop in Second Life is some nice house plants. Six new potted plants were released today in SL. The plants range from L$100 to L$200, the smallest count as 1 prim on your land. The biggest -- 4 prim.

These plants are 100% mesh, no prim, no sculpts. You will need a SL viewer version 3.0+ or better to see mesh content properly. You can find the plants inworld at The LOLO Pet Shop in Second Life.

New in Second Life: The LOLO Generation One Birds

Birds are flying & walking in Second Life:

Excitement is flying in Second Life birds this month. The LOLO Pet Shop launched the first autonomous flying & walking bird in SL that is not made of any prim or sculpty, it is a 100% mesh pet! You'll need a mesh-compliant SL viewer (3.0+) to see these latest LOLO pet creations. If you don't have a mesh viewer yet, please go download one here... without an updated Second Life viewer you can't see the birds... you'll only hear their birdsong!

The LOLOmesh Birds: Generation 1:

First there was only the CLASSIC BLUE ORIGINAL bird. Now this one original gets joined by 23 new friends... the complete first generation of LOLO birds has arrived!

These are tradable birds. They are transferable so you can give as gifts, or trade as you collect. They are very light too! Each bird only counts as 3 prim on your land, they're wearable pets also, so you can carry a bird with you in SL. As well as their intelligent roaming ability, these birds can also follow your avatar and more... they are fun pets!

The new birds will not be available on Second Life marketplace. To make sure the population stays in ratio -- with many many common birds -- & only a few rares, we are only delivering the birds from inside of SL.

You can find this collection of birds by visiting the nests inworld at The New LOLO Dome! You are likely to get one of the common birds shown above... if you are very lucky you might get a rare bird!

Coming Soon from The LOLO Pet Shop in Second Life

Sometime shortly, Second Life will allow a new type of object on the grid. These objects are called mesh & are 3-D creations made entirely outside of SL, using external 3D tools & brought inworld.

 

 

What will The LOLO be doing with mesh?

The LOLO Pet Shop is actively developing some new mesh animals for Second Life that we will release soon after this feature goes live across the grid. This new SL development of mesh is exciting for us -- we will be able to offer you even better looking animals. Since working outside of SL allows for faster design processes -- we can also release new generations of animals more quickly to you!

Our new Second Life animals will be packed full of even more fun & more animated too.

They will also be less prims! Yay!

If you've been following us you've seen our earlier mesh bird & we are now working on some new foxes for SL. Check 'em out!

Can you believe that fox is one prim in body? I almost can't believe it myself... I am used to SL having prim counts MUCH higher for any organic shapes. Final release will be more than 1 prim per fox (we still got some mesh magic to add in), but you get the idea... all new release of Second Life animals from The LOLO Pet Shop will be very lightweight on your land!

Cool! A fox is laying in my lap, while two arctic breed foxes watch the scene. This snapshot was taken on the beta grid, since mesh is not fully on the usual Second Life grid yet... but watch for these foxes coming soon to a sim near you!

 

Pricing Confusion:

• Will The LOLO Pet Shop start charging L$ for virtual animal food or care needs?
• Does The LOLO Pet Shop charge L$ for virtual animal food or care needs?

 No, there is no such extra charges & we have no plans to ever start charging! People are asking me lots lately if LOLO animals have costs & needs, asking if they are pay-to-feed, or pay-to-care... or if they might be that way in future.

Although some animal sellers in Second Life now charge customers this way, we will just keep releasing our new pets & animals with no costs after purchase.

There is quite simply no cost for us to keep your animals alive in SL, so we pass along this savings to our customers.

 

Simple to care for:

LOLO animals are very simple to care for. You can just place on your land & enjoy as they go about their behaviors. These animals know how to take care of themselves, so they are okay to survive on their own without dying or getting lost... they are fun & independent intelligent creatures.

New Release Video: Robot Cats from The LOLO in Second Life

This video introduces the new robot cats from The LOLO Pet Shop.

Check out our new style vehicle made for use in Second Life. You can ride with a friend, and the two of you can share control of this giant robot cat. The two passengers (pilot & copilot) sit in the cockpit, as the robocat jumps, walks.... or takes flight with HOVERJETS.

This is one sweet ride!

 

New Product Launched in Second Life: The Robot Cat

I just launched something new in SL!

The Robot Cat, a new rideable vehicle to arrive in Second Life.

Sits two avatars, the owner of this vehicle is the pilot & room for a friend to ride with you!

Friends can play as passengers, or you can pass them the control of this robot, letting them drive as copilot! It's really fun!

The Robot Cat is animated, as pilot you can walk it around on the ground & make it jump too! When you turn on hoverjets it can even fly quite smoothly. You can also control the speed of The Robot Cat, all controls are easy with push-button style actions.
